Customer requirements

Levalens Aspheric 2.0 is a new generation of aspheric lenses, with two additional versions: Blue Control 2.0 for blue light control and Photochromic 2.0, which changes color upon exposure to UV rays. The first viewers of the video weren't eyewear wearers, but rather eyewear stores and distribution partners. They decided whether or not to stock the new lens line.

A video for the launch event.

The video was shown at the product launch event, where An Khang Phuoc met with partners. The length had to be concise, and the message clear from the first viewing, as the audience in the hall couldn't rewind.

Transforming invisible technology into visual images.

The challenge with optical products is that key features are not visible to the naked eye: light control, color change in sunlight, and lens surface coatings. If the product launch video only shows models wearing the glasses, partners won't see any difference between the new lens line and the old one.

Right Media's solution for product launch videos.

1. The message: “Ready for every moment”

Right Media built its creative concept around one idea: Levalens lenses adapt to the modern lifestyle. The video explores three lighting conditions that glasses wearers encounter daily – digital screens, indoor spaces, and outdoor lighting. Each condition is associated with a product feature.

2. VFX and 3D Animation for the technology section.

The live-action footage introduces the people and setting. VFX and 3D animation handle the technology: showing viewers the control over lighting, color transitions, and the coating structure of the lenses. Labels such as "filters harmful blue-violet light" appear directly on the frame, attached to the glasses the characters are wearing.

The review details the specifications: the Photochromic lenses change color in seconds, are transparent indoors, and are intensely colored up to 87% outdoors. Four coatings on both sides of the lenses provide protection against UVA, UVB, and blue-violet light.

3. A consistent creative vision

Right Media handles everything from Creative Concept, scriptwriting, and Director Treatment to filming, post-production, VFX, and 3D animation. Because one team works from start to finish, the live footage and the graphics are designed to fit together right from the treatment stage, not waiting until post-production to be combined.

Right Media's implementation process

Phase 1: Pre-production

The team develops the creative concept, script, and Director Treatment. During treatment, which scenes are filmed live, which are 3D rendered, and where the technical annotations are located are all finalized beforehand. This allows for a single day of filming.

Phase 2: Production

The entire filming session was completed in one day in Ho Chi Minh City, in two locations: a pedestrian street for outdoor scenes with lighting, and a studio for indoor scenes and scenes involving working with monitors. During the filming, the crew also shot the key visual for the launch event's promotional materials.

Phase 3: Post-production

The team edited, color-corrected, created VFX and 3D animation for the lens technology segment, and then finalized the 60-second TV commercial to be shown at the event.

Results achieved

Through the launch event, An Khang Phuoc found many partners to distribute Levalens Aspheric 2.0 to customers. For B2B products sold through eyewear stores, the number of distribution partners is the clearest way to measure the effectiveness of a product launch video.

In addition to the 60-second TV commercial for the event, An Khang Phuoc received a set of key visuals and all the recorded footage, providing sufficient material to continue creating sales content after the event. The project introduction, posted on Right Media's YouTube channel, is 1 minute and 54 seconds long.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does a B2B product launch video differ from a retail TV commercial?

B2B product launch videos, directed at resellers – dealers, retailers, distributors – should answer the question: how is the new product different from the product already on the shelves? Retail TV commercials, on the other hand, speak directly to the end user and often lean more towards emotion than specifications.

When should you use 3D animation in your product videos?

When key product features can't be captured on camera—such as coatings, internal structure, or light filtering mechanisms—3D animation allows viewers to see what the manufacturer wants to convey, instead of just hearing a description.

Is one day of filming enough for a product launch video?

That's enough, if pre-production clearly defined which scenes were filmed live and which were created using graphics. The Levalens project completed filming two sets in one day because this was clearly defined during the Director's Treatment.
