The challenge of creating a product video for building materials.
MPC (Minerals Plastic Composite) is a line of flooring panels from FORTADECK, introduced after WPC (Wood Plastic Composite), which is already familiar in the market.
The problem is these two types They look almost identical.Same wood grain, same panel shape, same use for balconies and gardens. Buyers cannot distinguish them visually, while the differences lie in characteristics that only become apparent after many years of use: heat resistance, water resistance, and warp resistance.
Therefore, FM Trading needs a comparison video, instead of one. product introduction video normally.
Video 1: Comparing WPC and MPC
The first building material product video goes straight to each comparison criterion, highlighting a specific difference between the two materials.
- Fire resistance – MPC contains natural hydrous silicate, so it is not affected by high temperatures.
- Completely waterproof – It doesn't deform or swell like regular WPC, thus protecting against mold and insects.
- Load-bearing capacity – Capable of withstanding loads up to 800 kg per square meter.
- Anti-slip – The surface remains non-slip even after rain or contact with water.
- UV resistant – It does not change shape or color under sunlight.
The video concludes with three surface finish options (3D embossing, glossy embossing, grooved) and a warranty policy, with a product lifespan of up to 35 years.
Second video: MPC floor panel installation guide
The second video provides installation instructions, with no dialogue, only images and background music. Each step of installing the floor panels and LAG rails is shown sequentially in the video.
The people watching this video are FM Trading agents and employeesThe video helps them quickly grasp the steps for installing the floor panels and LAG beams, so they can guide customers and the construction team. No narration is needed; viewers can follow each step, even when watching on a phone with the sound off.
Because it has no dialogue, the video can also be sent to viewers who don't speak Vietnamese without the need for dubbing or subtitles.
Two videos, two different viewers.
In this building materials product video project, two videos cater to two different groups within the same sales chain.
- Comparison video For decision-makers: investors, architects, homeowners. They need to know why they should choose MPC instead of the familiar WPC.
- Installation guide video This is for dealers and installation staff. They need to understand the correct techniques for installing floor panels and LAG beams in order to instruct the construction team.
By splitting the building materials product videos into two separate videos instead of combining them into one, each group only watches the part relevant to them, and FM Trading sends the correct video to the right person.
A day of filming at the studio, indoors and outdoors in the sun.
Both videos were filmed in one day at the workshop in Ho Chi Minh City. The installation of the floor panels and LAG bars was filmed inside the workshop. Another part of the footage was filmed outside in the workshop yard under real sunlight, because the properties of MPC that need to be demonstrated, such as sun resistance, UV resistance, and slip resistance when wet, are all related to outdoor environments. As in many projects. film for building materials factoryThe crew worked continuously from morning till evening on a hot, sunny day.
A representative from FORMADECK shared their impressions of the filming session. Customer testimonial video in the finishing materials industry.
