Internal training video project for the dental care industry: Kyowon x Right Media
Kyowon needed an internal training video for its Wellnature toothpaste product line. What set this project apart was that the presenter wasn't a marketing professional, but rather Dr. Do Ngoc Anh, a Master of Dental Surgery with 10 years of experience in oral care for adults and children.
Why do businesses need internal training videos?
In the healthcare industry, sales teams must be able to answer specialized questions from customers. If each person researches the information independently, the information provided will be inconsistent – and in this industry, incorrect information can lead to legal risks.
An internal training video solves this: the entire team, including new hires, receives the same standardized content, regardless of who is providing the training.
Why hire a doctor instead of using company staff?
This is the most notable decision of the project.
The video content doesn't begin with a product description. The doctor starts with common oral health problems – gingivitis, cavities, bad breath – explaining how bacteria metabolize sugar into acids that destroy the hard tissues of the teeth, before moving on to choosing toothpaste and toothbrushes.
This circuit is important because it teaches the team. Understand the problem before talking about the product.A staff member who understands why antibacterial agents are needed in toothpaste will give completely different advice than one who only knows the list of ingredients.
The expensive part: the doctor also mentioned the negative aspects.
The video contains segments that a commercial would never include.
- The doctor clarified the toothpaste advertisement. The idea that tartar can be removed is false. – Teeth cleaning is necessary for effective results.
- Whitening toothpaste requires a high concentration of hydrogen peroxide to be effective, but it should only contain very small amounts because it can damage the gums.
- Using large salt granules to brush your teeth is not recommended as it can damage your gums.
- Electric toothbrushes aren't necessarily better than regular toothbrushes – effectiveness depends on brushing technique, and the cost of replacing brush heads causes many people to delay replacing them.
These segments increase the credibility of the entire video. When the presenter is willing to say something unfavorable, the rest becomes more believable.
Instructions for operation
The video concludes with a close-up of the correct brushing technique: tilt the toothbrush 45 degrees between the teeth and gums, gently vibrate it, then stroke downwards, vibrating about three times at each position; stroke upwards on the lower jaw, and hold the front of the toothbrush upright.
This part requires filming multiple shots and different camera angles to ensure clear execution, as viewers will follow exactly what they see on the screen.
How are internal training videos different from advertising videos?
Compared to corporate films Typically, an internal training video has three differences in production methods:
- Length is unlimited. – The viewers are employees; they watch for work, not just to browse.
- Clarity is more important than impression. – Avoid distracting special effects or quick cuts; focus on ensuring the viewer understands and remembers the content.
- Long lifespan – Reusable for all new recruitment drives, never becomes outdated by the campaign.
