Corporate ESG videos are films that show customers, investors, and employees what a business is doing for the environment, people, and governance, using verifiable visuals. This article summarizes how the Right Media team incorporated ESG content into videos for factories and FDI businesses: 6 essential elements, when to create a dedicated video, how to avoid "green screening," and reference costs. Examples include Thanh Cong, PLUS, LCB Battery, Far Eastern Polytex, Top Royal Flash, DEF Phu My Xanh, and Baker Tilly A&C.

What is enterprise ESG video?

Corporate ESG videos are films that showcase three areas of work a business is doing: environmental, social, and governance. These videos do not replace sustainability reports. They allow viewers to see firsthand what the reports describe: solar panels on the factory roof, water treatment facilities, certifications displayed on the walls, and workers wearing appropriate protective gear.

In Right Media's projects, ESG content is often not a standalone element but rather a chapter within the corporate film. Thanh Cong Textile pursues three directions: technology investment, sustainable development, and value chain expansion. Thanh Cong's film includes a section on its commitment to sustainable development: solar energy, water recycling, and green materials.

Who watches ESG videos and what do they check?

ESG video viewers don't just skim. They watch to check a specific point before signing a contract, investing, or taking on a job. Therefore, each part of the video should answer a specific question for a particular group of viewers.

Viewers What they checked A scene that should be in the movie.
International customers and brands Does the factory meet the environmental and labor standards they require? Certification, waste treatment facility, working conditions
Parent company, investor Does the business have a clear direction and commitment? Leaders talk about goals and green investments.
Candidates, workers Is the work environment safe and respectful of workers? Interviewing employees, protective equipment, benefits
Community, local partners What contribution do businesses make to the places where they operate? Community activities, environmental programs

Far Eastern Polytex (FENC)'s corporate video serves as an example for the group of candidates. The video includes a segment where an employee, who has been with the company for over three years, speaks about the civilized work environment and the leadership's respect for employees. The employee's own words are more persuasive than self-praise.

6 essential elements a business ESG video should include.

A corporate ESG video doesn't need to include all six parts. The team selects the parts where the business has real evidence to film, then arranges them in the order viewers will ask questions.

1. Context: Why are businesses talking about ESG?

The film opens with the real pressures viewers are facing, before introducing the business. Baker Tilly A&C's film, from an auditing firm, opens with the pressures businesses are currently experiencing: tighter investor scrutiny, different client expectations, changing policies, and the necessity of ESG reporting. After the problem statement, Baker Tilly A&C emerges as a partner that can support businesses.

2. Environment: Real equipment and processes

The environmental aspect requires visuals that viewers can't question: equipment in operation, processes in progress. The film Success talks about solar energy, water recycling, and green materials. Far Eastern Polytex introduces recycled polyester fiber as a green raw material for fabric production.

Using a process invisible to the naked eye, the 3-minute branded film DEF Phu My Green features 3D simulations of the process by which a solution transforms NOx emissions into nitrogen and water vapor. Real footage from the Phu My Fertilizer Plant is interspersed with animation, making it easy for viewers without a chemistry background to follow.

3. Certification: Read out the name and state who you are serving.

Certification is the quickest ESG proof for international customers. The video should correctly state the certification name and show its location within the factory:

  • LCB Battery: ISO 14001:2015 on the environment and ISO 45001:2018 on occupational health and safety, in addition to ISO 9001 and IATF 16949.
  • PLUS Vietnam: ISO 14001, ISO 50001 for energy management and SA8000 for social responsibility.
  • Top Royal Flash: BSCI, GRS, OCS, and international customer reviews such as Costco.

Don't list certifications in a long paragraph. Read the name in the commentary, along with a picture of the relevant area: wastewater treatment plant for ISO 14001, occupational safety and health area for ISO 45001.

4. People and workplace safety

The "S" in ESG is demonstrated through people. Scenes should include: workers wearing proper protective gear, a safe work area, training sessions, and interviews with workers giving their firsthand accounts. The final segment of the film by Golden Lotus, an industrial construction general contractor, reviews its certifications in quality management, environmental management, and occupational safety.

5. Community

Community outreach should only be included in films when businesses do it regularly, not just once. In 2022 and 2023, Polytex and AEON organized Eco Day, encouraging the community to collect and recycle plastic waste. For Eco Day 2026, Right Media created a nearly 4-minute recap video specifically for FENC and AEON Mall. PLUS included the Plus Scholarship Fund and a segment on the transition from plastic to paper packaging in their corporate film.

6. Governance and Commitment

The letter G is the most difficult to film because management lacks visual representation. The usual approach is for leaders to directly state the goals, along with milestones achieved. The LCB Battery film concludes with a commitment to environmental protection, reducing waste, and decreasing energy consumption. This commitment should follow the evidence, not be at the beginning of the film.

Should you create a separate ESG video or incorporate it into your corporate film?

Most businesses should incorporate ESG into a 60–90 second segment of their corporate video. Only create a separate ESG video when requested by clients, the parent company, or investors, or when the business already has a sustainability report that requires a visual version.

Making Duration Suitable when
An ESG chapter in corporate films. 60–90 seconds in a corporate video Businesses need a general promotional video, and ESG is a strong point.
Private ESG video 3–5 minutes Required by the parent company, brand, or investor; sustainability report is required.
A series of short clips from the same filming session. 30–60 seconds per clip Post on social media, display at exhibitions, include with your portfolio.

All three methods can be used on the same shooting schedule. The crew creates a list of ESG scenes during the initial scouting, shoots them once, and then edits them into different versions. The number of edited versions needs to be agreed upon when providing a quote.

How can I prevent ESG videos from being considered "greenwashing"?

Greenwashing occurs when a business creates an impression of being environmentally friendly beyond what it actually does. ESG videos mitigate this risk by including real footage or verified figures in every comment.

Five principles that the Right Media team applies:

  • Only say what is supported by evidence: You can't talk about clean energy until you've installed solar panels.
  • Data approved by the business: The amount of recycled water, solar power capacity, and training hours are taken from the relevant department and approved on the blueprint.
  • Filmed at the factory, no scenes of forests or seas were downloaded. Viewers immediately recognize the generic illustration.
  • The certificate must still be valid: The company confirmed the expiration date before reading out the names in the film.
  • Commitment with a timeframe: Instead of slogans, say "What are you doing, and until what year?"

Cost of creating ESG videos for businesses

Corporate ESG videos are priced like corporate films, based on length, number of filming days, and crew size. Here are three sample packages from Right Media:

Package Reference price Scope
Standard 15 million 1-2 minutes, one drone filming session, one-person crew.
Professional 59 million 2–3 minutes, 1 day of filming, crew of 4+ people
High-class 199 million 3–5 minutes, 2 days of filming, crew of 5+ people, Vietnamese/English voiceover, VFX.

If the ESG scene is filmed on the same day as the film's shooting, the ESG segment will be included in the duration of the selected package. See details for each package at corporate video production services.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can a company create an ESG video if it doesn't have an ESG report?

Yes, if the company already has actual work to film: ISO 14001 certification, wastewater treatment system, workplace safety program. In that case, it should be incorporated as a chapter in the corporate video, called "environmental and human responsibility," instead of calling it an ESG video. Once the full report is available, this footage can be reused.

Should ESG videos be made in Vietnamese or English?

FDI companies should do both, as the main viewers are usually the parent company and foreign customers. A cost-effective way is to separate the text and commentary from the beginning, keeping the video intact. The film Top Royal Flash, from a Taiwanese FDI corporation, has both Vietnamese and English versions, and is 4 minutes and 16 seconds long.

Would filming the waste treatment area damage the factory's image?

No, that's only if the facility operates according to standards. For international clients, a clean wastewater treatment plant with clearly marked procedures is better evidence than a reception area. The team conducts a preliminary survey, suggests camera angles and filming times, and the company approves each scene in the draft version.

How often should I remake an ESG video?

When major changes require updates: new certifications, new solar power systems, new goals. It's not necessary to reshoot everything. If the original edits are available, the team can reshoot the new scenes and re-edit the ESG segment, retaining the general introduction from the original film.
