Ho Chi Minh City High-Tech Park (SHTP) is a popular location for many technology corporations to set up their factories. The SHTP Management Board needed a video to showcase the park's strengths to investors before they made a decision. Right Media undertook the project of creating a Profile Video introducing Ho Chi Minh City High-Tech Park, from content research to final film completion.

Customer requirements

The Ho Chi Minh City High-Tech Park Management Board (SHTP) needs an introductory video for investors. The target audience is corporations considering setting up factories or research centers in SHTP, so the video must answer the question: why should they invest here?

Large volumes of data:

After more than 22 years of formation and development, SHTP has a lot of data. The client wants the video to show:

  • Infrastructure scale: The total area is 913 hectares, divided into two development phases.
  • Incentive policy: Corporate income tax incentives, exemption from land rent for 15-19 years or the entire term.
  • Endogenous ecosystems: In addition to factories, SHTP also has R&D (Research & Development) activities, a business incubator, and human resource training.

Image requirements:

SHTP doesn't want an old-fashioned promotional video with lots of generic commentary. Clients need a modern, clean image that truly reflects a high-tech park, and a fast enough pace to keep viewers engaged until the end.

Right Media's cameraman adjusts the camera angle at the High-Tech Park.

The crew chooses the camera angle and waits for the right moment before pressing the shutter button.

Right Media's solution

Right Media's team chose two approaches: "Data Visualization" and "Emotionalizing Technology." Data was brought to life graphically, while images of people and workplaces kept the film from becoming dry.

The content is divided into 4 chapters:

The film doesn't follow a chronological order but rather focuses on what interests the investors. The opening commentary introduces SHTP as one of the three national high-tech zones established by the Prime Minister, then proceeds sequentially:

  • Chapter 1: The "One-Stop Shop" Mechanism and Incentives: The commentary highlights SHTP's unique selling proposition (USP). It clarifies that investors can go through a one-stop or integrated process, from investment certificates and environmental permits to labor permits, thereby "saving time and costs and bringing projects into operation sooner." This is accompanied by tax incentives and land lease fee exemptions.
  • Chapter 2: Innate Capabilities: The Research and Development Center, the High-Tech Business Incubator, and the Training Center are three units working together to develop science and technology right within the zone.
  • Chapter 3: Location, Infrastructure & Human Resources: SHTP is located 15km from the city center, 18km from Tan Son Nhat Airport, 8km from Cat Lai Port, and 2km from the Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City. The workforce comes from universities such as the Polytechnic University and the University of Natural Sciences. The 63MVA power station is supplied by two independent sources; the water supply is 9500 m3/day, which can be increased to 24,300 m3/day.
  • Chapter 4: Achievements & Vision: As of December 31, 2024, SHTP had 161 projects with a total capital of US$12.3 billion (49 FDI projects, 112 domestic projects). The chart shows that export revenue increased from US$0.5 billion in 2010 to US$23 billion in 2022 and maintained this level in 2023. The film highlights typical FDI projects such as Samsung and Intel.

Images and colors:

The film was shot in 4K. The dominant color scheme is technological blue, accompanied by white lighting. Viewers see clean and tidy research labs and workshops.

Right Media's cameras and equipment were set up on location.

Project implementation process

The film is over 7 minutes long. Right Media worked on the project in three phases:

Pre-phase: Field research

The scriptwriters worked extensively with various departments within the Management Board to properly understand the concepts of "endogenous capacity," "business incubator," and "key laboratory." Every line of commentary was reviewed by the client.

The Right Media team discusses commentary content with the client.

Production: Passing through each functional area

Right Media's film crew shot in all the different sections:

  • High-tech manufacturing zone: The working atmosphere at the factories of global corporations.
  • R&D Center: Real-world experiments were conducted in 5 key laboratories: Semiconductors, Precision Mechanics and Automation, Nanotechnology, Biotechnology, and Information Technology.
  • Logistics & Support Area: The inland port of the High-Tech Park Logistics Center has a maximum throughput capacity of 800 containers per day and night, dedicated to import and export goods of businesses in the park.

Post-production: Infographics and music

Over 155 industrial property rights and international patents are graphically presented. The background music changes tempo according to the content: fast-paced at the beginning, slowing down in the middle when discussing research and invention, and intensifying at the end when discussing the vision.

Results achieved

The Profile Video project introducing the Ho Chi Minh City High-Tech Park serves the objectives set by SHTP: to show investors the strengths of the park before they make a decision.

  • Investment promotion materials: In just over 7 minutes, investors can view the location, one-stop service mechanism, infrastructure, human resources, and existing projects at SHTP. The video can be used in investor meetings, investment promotion conferences, or included with introductory documents.
  • SHTP brand image: The film shows that SHTP has factories, laboratories, nurseries, and human resource training facilities, unlike an industrial park that only has workshops.
  • Right Media's experience: With a large dataset, the team selects the data that investors need, visualizes it graphically, and checks the feedback with the client.
  • Storage value: The film documents SHTP's development over 22 years, featuring images of the various zones and laboratories at the time of filming.
