In the precision engineering industry, customers only trust a supplier when they see the machinery, production management, and product quality firsthand. In the corporate film project for Hoang Kim Precision, Right Media tells the company's story through its team of engineers, machinery, and the details of the machining process right in the factory.

The film was delivered in three language versions to domestic and international clients: Vietnamese version, English version and Japanese version.

Customer requirements

Hoang Kim Precision was established in 2015 with an initial investment of $150,000, initially focusing on supplying products to Japanese companies in Vietnam. Today, the company has two factories in Thu Duc and Binh Chanh districts and a team of over 70 employees. Hoang Kim's customers include FDI companies (approximately half of sales) and Japanese and American partners (the remainder of exports). The company needs to present its capabilities to them more clearly than a PDF profile file.

The client made four main requests:

  • Show the scale: This shows the scale of the two factories (the main factory is 2000m2 in Thu Duc, the subsidiary is 500m2 in Binh Chanh) and the team of over 70 skilled personnel.
  • Demonstrate technical competence: The setup includes over 70 pieces of equipment (47 CNC milling machines, 13 CNC lathes, 7 CNC wire cutting machines, grinding machines, welding machines, etc.) and precision measuring equipment such as the Hexagon CMM imported from Italy.
  • Clearly state the QCD philosophy: The three criteria businesses pursue are: Quality, Cost, and Delivery.
  • Reaching international customers: The film had to be polished enough to be shown to Japanese and American partners, who needed to see that the company met stringent technical requirements.

Therefore, Hoang Kim Precision's corporate film needed to do more than just showcase the machinery. The film needed to show partners a manufacturer that is committed to long-term business relationships and has invested in a 500KW solar power system. Hoang Kim wanted the film to be a visual representation of its capabilities: after watching it, partners should understand what the company does and how far it has progressed.

Solutions for corporate films: Hoang Kim Precision

Right Media makes films according to the "4 Right" standards: right message, right quality, right schedule, and right visual vision. For Hoang Kim, this standard is reflected in four choices:

  • Close-up image: In addition to wide shots, the film devotes significant screen time to close-ups of CNC drills, wire-cutting with electrical sparks, and the movement of the 3D measuring machine. Through these details, viewers can see the precision of the product.
  • Indoor and outdoor drones: To showcase the scale of the Thu Duc factory and its solar power system (500KW), the crew used a drone to film a panoramic view from above.
  • The script is based on real abilities: The commentary and images follow a continuous narrative, from the company's history to its current production capacity. The commentary highlights key areas: precision machining for the electronics, semiconductor, telecommunications, aerospace, and automotive industries; and the manufacturing of conveyor belts, vibrating screens, and workbenches. The film points out a detail of interest to customers: the company always keeps more than 10 backup machining machines on hand for urgent orders.
  • Sound and post-production: The background music has a distinct rhythm. The film has three versions: Vietnamese, English, and Japanese, aligning with the company's export strategy.

The script was prepared for all three languages, with the Japanese version intended for Hoang Kim's Japanese partners. The film's color palette uses cool tones to highlight the steel and factory structures clearly in the frame.

All of these options serve one goal: Hoang Kim can use video immediately when pitching to new partners.

Implementation process

The corporate film project for Hoang Kim Precision, a precision engineering company, went through each step carefully, ensuring both the visuals were perfect and factory safety regulations were followed. The first step was surveying the two workshops to understand the work rhythm and select camera angles.

The entire project was scheduled to avoid disrupting the factory's production:

  1. Survey and brainstorming: The Right Media team visited two studios in Thu Duc and Binh Chanh to survey camera angles, lighting, and learn about the specific types of equipment used.
  2. On-site production: The filming took place over two days. The crew dedicated many scenes to showcasing the engineers' work ethic and quality control process, aspects the client wanted to see before placing an order.
  3. Post-production: The film crew used editing and color grading to highlight the metallic textures and the cleanliness of the factory.
  4. Integrate graphics: Motion Graphics displays numbers for the machines (47 CNC milling machines, 13 CNC lathes, etc.) to help viewers easily remember the information.

With three language versions, Hoang Kim was able to send the right version to each group: Vietnamese for domestic clients, English for American and international partners, and Japanese for Japanese partners.

The Right Media crew positioned the camera to capture close-up details of the manufacturing process.

Results achieved

Hoang Kim Precision used corporate films directly for sales and business promotion:

  • Visual portfolio of our company: FDI partners can see Hoang Kim's team of engineers, CNC machines, and measuring equipment without having to visit the factory.
  • New sales tool: Businesses can use videos instead of paper profiles in bidding sessions, presentations at trade fairs, or to send to foreign partners.
  • Show your commitment to green: The solar power system featured in the film provides useful information for partners interested in sustainable production.
  • The company's message: The film reiterates the message "Your peace of mind is our existence" that Hoang Kim wants to send to its partners.
