FDI Textile and Garment Industry Corporate Film Project: FENC – Far Eastern Group
FDI Textile and Garment Industry Corporate Film Project: FENC – Far Eastern Group x Right Media
FENC – Far Eastern New Century, a subsidiary of Far Eastern Group – is one of the leading names in the regional textile and garment industry. Right Media produced a corporate film for FEPV, with filming taking place at their factory, which is touted as the largest in Binh Duong province.
The scale of the factory poses a unique challenge for corporate films in the textile and garment industry.
For a factory that is among the largest in the province, the first challenge is not a lack of materials, but rather... too much material.
A large-scale textile factory consists of many separate areas: spinning, weaving, dyeing, finishing, quality control, and finished goods storage. Each area has a different environment in terms of lighting, noise, and temperature conditions. If everything were filmed, the movie would become a catalog of equipment, and viewers wouldn't remember anything.
Therefore, the pre-production phase must select the areas that best showcase core competencies and arrange a logical travel schedule so that an entire day isn't wasted just traveling from one area to another.
Three technical requirements when filming corporate videos in the textile and garment industry.
Noise. The weaving and spinning area has a constant, very high volume of machine noise. Any parts requiring audio recording – interviews, introductions – must be arranged in a separate area or recorded separately; it's impossible to record directly on the production line.
Fiber dust. The air in the spinning area contains suspended fiber dust. This dust adheres to the lenses and sensors, so the equipment must be shielded and cleaned between spins.
Fluorescent light. Textile factories often use fluorescent lights on the ceiling, which give a cool tone and are prone to flickering when filming at high speeds. Proper white balance and additional lighting are necessary to maintain realistic skin tones.
What do FDI businesses need in corporate videos?
FENC is a foreign corporation investing in Vietnam. Therefore, the film serves a broader audience than typical corporate films:
- Parent company and corporate leadership – It is necessary to ensure that the facility in Vietnam operates according to the system's standards.
- International customers – Fashion brands evaluate suppliers based on factory conditions and production capacity.
- Recruitment and Internal – Introducing the local work environment to candidates.
This is why corporate videos for FDI companies in the textile and garment industry always need a high-quality production, avoiding overly artistic techniques that may not be suitable for the parent company's corporate culture.
Why does the textile and garment industry need factory introduction videos?
The clients of a textile factory are overseas fashion brands. Before flying over for an in-person assessment, they screen suppliers through profiles and videos.
A video clearly showcasing the scale, factory conditions, and quality control system helps a business pass that screening process – something that still images or paper documents would find very difficult to achieve.
