Testimonial MIS implant: Still looks like a real tooth after 20 years | 3D Dental Clinic
In 2006, Mr. Pham Hoang Linh received MIS dental implants from Dr. Nguyen Van Khoa, MD, after an accident resulted in the breakage of two teeth. Twenty years later, Right Media and 3D Dental Clinic sat down with both the patient and the doctor to recount that treatment in the first episode of the MIS JOURNEY series.

Customer requirements
2026 marks 20 years of MIS implants in Vietnam (2006-2026). The journey of 3D Dental Medicine began in 2006 when we introduced this solution and partnered with the dental community. To celebrate, 3D Dental Medicine wants a series of films that don't focus on product specifications, but on real-life stories: doctors, actual treatment cases, and those who have contributed to this journey.
The first episode needed the most irrefutable proof of implant durability: a patient who had an implant placed twenty years ago and is now eating and chewing normally, recounting the story herself.
Right Media's solution for testimonial implant placement.
1. Play the film using the patient's voice.
The film doesn't open with a logo or commentary, but with Linh:
"I felt just like a normal person, just like a normal person. And I didn't even think I had implants. Sometimes I even feel proud when I mention the implants."
This line is repeated almost verbatim at the end of the film. Viewers hear it twice: the first time as a promise, the second time as a conclusion after knowing the whole story.
2. Two parallel angles
The film alternates between two people. Mr. Linh recounts the patient's treatment story: "I had an accident, and I broke two teeth. One of the roots couldn't be restored, so implants were necessary." The doctor recounts the same case from the patient's perspective, given the conditions of 2006: the implant department at that time had a PRF machine, and the team would take the patient's blood, centrifuge it, and create a thin membrane to apply to the gum line. "We've been using that PRF machine from 2006 until now."
By placing the two narratives side-by-side, viewers can perceive both the patient's feelings and the doctor's work, something a single commentary cannot achieve.
3. Keep the difficult parts as well.
A dental testimonial is easily altered, leaving only the aesthetically pleasing part. Here, the X-rays preserve the most accurate images. Mr. Linh recounted how the anesthetic wore off between surgeries, and the sensations were overwhelming: "It felt like a chisel or a hammer was pounding into my head." The doctor admitted the procedure was very difficult due to a lack of tools: "We had to figure things out, lift the flap, measure its thickness, and work very carefully, which took a lot of time back then." He said that if they did that procedure now, with X-rays to show where to go, where to widen and split the bone, it would be much simpler.
It is these details that make the ending believable. Viewers know the treatment was not easy, so the results after twenty years carry more weight.
4. Beliefs based on science
The film includes a segment where the doctor explains why he dared to proceed despite limited resources: science has proven that implants can replace missing teeth. "The bone integration is beyond doubt," he says. According to him, with good preparation and technique, any new technique can be undertaken.
5. Post-operative care
Mr. Linh clearly remembers the instructions to return for a follow-up appointment immediately if he experiences any pain or problems caused by the implant: "Dr. Khoa was very, very careful and thorough, giving me very detailed instructions." This is the ethical aspect of medicine that the series wants to highlight, told from the patient's perspective instead of a self-introduction.
Twenty years later
The final part is for both of you to reflect on. Mr. Linh:
"It means you have implants, but you're still a normal person. Nothing changes. And they're just as good as real teeth."
The doctor said he couldn't understand where the determination, knowledge, and luck came from that after 20 years, "the tooth is still there, still chewing well, still looks as good as ever," and that "brings happiness to the person who received the treatment."
The film concludes with a tribute from 3D Dental Clinic to Dr. Nguyen Van Khoa, MSc, Specialist II, a strategic partner who has accompanied, developed, and improved implant standards throughout the 20-year journey.
Note: The video content records the experience of a specific patient and does not represent the treatment results for all patients. The choice of treatment method should be determined by a doctor.
